What tankbags can be used with handlebar risers?

Does anyone have experience with any tankbag that can be used with either heli-bar or suburban machinery bar risers on the K1200GT or know of the ones that cannot be used?
Comments or suggestions.
Pictures please?

Re: What tankbags can be used with handlebar risers?

Good afternoon. My first (and only thus far) complaint with the 07 is the BMW tankbag. Unless you push the darn thing in the opposite direction of your turn in a low speed turn the horn button will be activated. Perhaps this is why the lower attatchment points are so sloppy. To exacerbate this unexpected application of said horn (now supplemented by a Stebul Nautilaus), I have also added the Heli-bar 1"+1" which now completely eliminates the possibility of any surreptitous approach to my home. In short, do not use the BMW tankbag for anything other than a coffee table ornament unless all of your corners are gradual ones. I will be watching for any suggestions as well as I intend to replace the BMW bag soon. Glenn.

Re: What tankbags can be used with handlebar risers?

I'm using a Big Mak tank bag with the Suburban Machinery bar risers. Yes, it touches at full-lock but they pretty much all will, unless they're so small as to be useless.

I did look at some Marsee quick-disconnect tank bags, but they all sat so far forward as to touch even on a stock bike without the risers. Too bad, as the stiff shell and clear, hard top cover are nice features.

Also, Wunderlich makes a small bracket that covers the horn button so that a tank bag won't set it off. Santa Cruz BMW can get these, though you may have to call them directly.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Just when I thought I was going to buy a new tankbag, Wunderlich comes through again. Thanks, Meese. Glenn.

I use a Marsee strap on bag that I had previously used on an Aprillia that ended up working surprisingly well. You can move it forward or back and it sticks fine to the tank. To fuel up I just release the back clips and move it to the right. The base stays put if you want to take it off the bike so you don't have to readjust it. Construction is first class.

It is now 5 years old and holding up great. I am way more impressed with it than the RKA tailpack I bought which sags and is slippery on the bottom.

Question Re: What tankbags can be used with handlebar risers?

Thanks fellows for the responses; I like the horn button cover idea.
Does anyone have experience with the "Engage" tankbag?

Meese,
Did you have any trouble installing the Suburban Machinery bar risers? Cable lengths OK, etc. I just read their site. I need 1.5-2" back and height is OK. Says lowest postion bring bars back 1.75" and raises 1" which will probably be just right for me.

Also, how do you like the Big Mak bag. Is it stable(doesn't vibrate or move around)?
