Bought a 2006 K1200GT with 3,000 miles

Wasn't really looking for one but I couldn't pass it up. Dark graphite color with every option including ESA. Completely stock in perfect condition. Hopefully I will like it enough that I will keep it a while.

Please tell me I got a good deal at $12,900

I have heard about the airbox issue and I am not sure if this bike has had the fix and new software. One owner trade on a new harley. Manufacture date of 3/06. All the Beemer dealers are closed today so I couldn't confirm warranty but it has to be at least until 3/09. It was located at a harley dealer in Jersey and he just put it on Ebay so I knew it wouldn't last long. He took it in on trade on Saturday.

Any other issues, recalls or tsbs? What about key antenna ring like on my R1200GSA? I know it has the servo brakes but I didn't mind them on my LT.

Did the GT have transmission issues like the K1200s? I heard the 2007 K1200S got a new transmission.

Thanks in advance for any info. I can get out of the deal but it will cost me $500

Heck ya you got a good deal. Bought my 2006 last October with 9k on the odometer for $16k.

So do you have the ESA, heated seats, cruise?

Check the BMW dealer for the maintenancce history. If it hasn't had the airbox change ask for it. If they refuse because you haven't had any bad histroy....ride it a while and then complain about uncntrolled surging, throttle. You should get some action then. Trans is just cluncky in my opinion.

I only have 19k on the clock now but others here have much more.

Yeah it has all the goodies (heated grips, seat, cruise, esa, computer). I don't think it has TPM and it doesn't have ASC. I thought it was too good of a deal to pass up. I got lucky. Now I just have to figure out how to get it home to Kansas City. I have a good shipper but I might fly and ride instead.

I have a 2003 K1200RS which keeps my Adventure company. It is going up for adoption. Everything I have read is the new GT is a much more relaxed riding position than the old one.
