on vacation ...

... but can't go away as the girlfriend and I have had a tumble on my ZX12R, bike OK, me OK but she has a bust arm, leg and has had to have her spleen removed. She's now out of ICU and is taking things easy at home.

I've taken the opportunity to hide away in the garage and work on a renovation project I've had stored for some time. Quite proud of it so far, especially as purchase price was a mere 1000 USD with 25000 miles on the clock (totally genuine mileage as I've known the bike for all of its existence).

Ouch! Give her my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I guess since you didn't throw yourself between her and the road we now know chivalry is truly dead.

NIce project bike, but it looks mighty clean already. What are you doing to it?

Nice bike. Best wishes on a speedy recovery!

cool bike and even better scenery! What a nice place to live! To bad to hear about the accident...I will keep you both in my prayers. May she heal quickly. I'm just glad she is gonna be OK. Praying for her.

It was considerably less tidy when I started

Just been generally cleaning her up, rebuilding the brakes as the seals had perished, cleaning and rebuilding the carbs as they were gummed up.

I've not mentioned to the girlfriend that I;ve used her nail varnish remover for the carb cleaning (excellent stuff for cleaning carbs!)

Using her polish because you know she can't chase you.
