should I change exhausts?

At MOA rally I was advised to look at Two Bros exhausts to lighten load.

What quality is Two Bros and does this make sense?

I bought one and rode to the GG Quad demo at Rhinewest. Rode home and took it off. That baby is LOUD!!! The engine spun up a little easier. Had about 60 miles of it and I missed my stealth mode. Folks looked when I went by at mach. The quality is excellent, you lose about 12 lbs. and if you don't mind a little noise, go for it.

I wish I'd known you wanted to try one out. I've already donated it to the CCR Silent Auction.

Re: should I change exhausts?

I actually prefer the sound of the GT stock vs. with an aftermarket pipe. The growl from the intake is one of the more intoxicating sounds I've heard in a while, and I play that tune every time I get a chance!

You mention the reasoning is to lighten the load (did the 2 Bros rep tell you this? ). Yes, lighter can be better, but what noticeable benefit to the overall handling, stability, etc., are you expecting to gain from dropping 12 lbs from the exhaust system? Or is this so you can bring more supplies to Booze Brothers at CCR?

Re: should I change exhausts?

Thanks guys.

Sound is a problem for me. Still dealing with wind noise so I guess aftermarket exhaust is out.

Re: should I change exhausts?

I have a Two Bros. on my RS and really like it. Louder than a Remus, it makes you want to take the revs higher than necessary just to hear it growl. I wouldn't want one on my LT because of the increase in noise. Different bike, different style, It is a well made product however.

Re: should I change exhausts?

I would wonder if a SECONDARY baffle like we did with the REMUS sport cans could be applied ?
That mod really took the BARK out of the REMUS system with no power loss.

Me too David! Kinda reminds me of an old four-barrel carb when you floored the pedal. What a great sound and you KNOW the power is coming 'cause you HEAR it and FEEL it!

Re: should I change exhausts?

I have a Remus Carbon Fiber canister with the Remus header, as well. I really like the look and sound but am a bit disappointed it doesn't have a little more "growl" when you get on it. I even removed the baffle and find it is still very tame sounding. I dunno, different strokes for different folks.

The stock can is big and bulky and a heavy sucker. The Remus does save significant amount of weight. I am happy with it overall.
