Warm up trip.....Memorial weekend

So I was happy with my 93 K1100RS but my wife hated riding on the back even with a backrest. Hence the excuse to buy a used '06 GT.

Yeah now I know about all the 'bad' things about the '06 but hey its what I got and that's it.

So we have geared the wife all up and got new helmets and intercom.
The GT will get its 12k check up next week. Its had the airbox fix.
We have a 2 week trip planned in July to Colorado and then to Banff but Memorial weekend will be our shake down cruise. Heading for Crater Lake Oregon by way of the California Siearras.

I've been reading all the negative posts about we got to fix this and BMW made this more difficlut so I figured why not post about a good thing.....a nice ride.

Sounds like you have some great trips planned. Let us know if you survive them all unscathed.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Was not aware of all these "bad things" about our GT's. Please tell us....

I have no bad things with my 06.
Get the airbox replaced, no more bucking
Get the airbox replaced, shifting improves
Install a powerlet outlet and wire it to the battery
Problems solved, quit your whining!

I HAVE NOT experienced any of the above "problems" on my 07. So I guess I'm lucky?
