Really dumb K1200 lighting question

Ok here goes I picked up my 05 LT last week, how do I turn on
the down lights which live under the side bars on each side of the bike.
I can see the down lights are there but the manual doesn't mention
how to turn them on ...

Thanks
Tony Cross

probably an auto-switch setup.. try by pressing your turn signal button momentarily. most likely will turn them on/off... you should have an LED mounted somewhere visible to your line of sight, that illuminates when lights are on. if not ?

Re: Really dumb K1200 lighting question

I've never wanted mine on when driving, but, I'll have to look now.

They turn on for me when I shut the bike off or use the remote control (lock or unlock).

Do you have the alarm? Do they ever turn on?

Re: Really dumb K1200 lighting question

These lights turn on when you turn off the engine and when you switch off the alarm with the remote.

I discovered they are perfect lights to see that you have just stepped into dirt when you turn off the bike.

BTW, there is also a setting that you can have the dash light to turn on simultaneously with the ground lighting. I just can't remember the procedure exactly (had something to do with shifting the dash light switch in combination with the ignition key).

Re: Really dumb K1200 lighting question

Thanks Guys, I have tried the remote key disarm and they come on fine
They don't seem to turn on when the engine is stopped in the dark though.

Cheers Tony
