Although I was pretty set on getting a Russell, this changes that. Tell him I'll be riding down to get mine done. Now it's just a matter of WHEN.

Aren't those kinda big to fit in the collection plate?

Seems like a nice job. Now you have to go for a nice, long ride so you can let us know how it feels.

My bad, not Grif's, looks like he has a Kontour. Must have been someone else's. Was it Ken Meese that had those huge bun support's?

Naw, I give up, can't remember who it was, forget I said anything.

Nice seat Jack

Hey now, those pics were photoshopped, I was never there, I deny everything.

I'm using a Bill (Rocky) Mayer saddle. You're probably thinking of a Russell Day-Long, which has built-in metal wings that support the sides of the seat.

You're exactly right. It was a Russell in two tone color scheme. Pics somewhere on this site.

Actually, I showed him a BUNCH of pics and we discussed ways to make it comfortable, using some ideas from several bikes on this site. BTW, rode it to the mountains last night...about 3-4 hours...and there is NO comparison between this seat and the stocker. No butt-burn...just pure comfort and support. It is awesome! AND the new HID lowbeam we installed is KILLER!!!!

Joe, I know you may be wanting one of these seats. Do you remember what the back of it looks like?

'Cause that's what you're gonna be lookin' at ALL DAY!

And, I'll be wearing my special shirt that, printed on the back says, "If you really were fast, I'd be reading your shirt!"

Was he able to retain the heated part of the seat, or did you lose that?

Uh, better tell him to brace himself for an onslaught of GT seats!

Jack,

I am interested in talking to the guy that did your seat. I live in Atlanta; it would be a day trip for me to get a "redo" on my seat. I have read all of your posts and didn't see a name or contact number for this person.

The price is right and I am going on your word that it is a worthwhile improvement. In your business, that's called "faith".

Well, all I can say it that it worked out great for me. If you come up, he will probably measure your butt to "get a feel" (no pun intended) for what he needs to do. Mine is worlds better.

His name is Rick Lutz Rick's Upholstery mooresville, NC 704-301-0525

You can tell him that you saw my seat on the site and if you get ready to come up, I could certainly meet you and let you ride mine and see how you like it. His price is $389. I have nothing to gain, but just thought I would turn some of the guys on to what I thought was a good deal on a great seat. Have a blessed day!

OK...a lot of you guys have called/PM'd me, so I talked to the guy who did my seat and asked him to give us a discounted price. He asked me to let everyone know that the price for BOTH seats is now $329.00 (PICS are on the first posting on this thread)

I make nothing off of this, simply wanted to pass on a great deal to the members of this site. Here is his contact information once again. BTW, I absolutely LOVE mine! Very, very comfortable.

Heated Seats?

Your seats that your friend worked on for you, are they heated? Will he do the gt heated seats? Nice looking seats and I am tempted if he can do the heated versions. Rob

Hey Rob,

He does retain the heated element of the seats. I LOVE my new seat...much more confortable that even my old LT seat (I had it customized and had a Corbin - neither matched this seat. It's almost unbeatable for $329. He's a stand-up guy too!

Hey Pastor Jack, has your friend ever worked on a GS? My "New To Me" '01 R1150GS needs some real help in that area.

Lynn,

Can't say whether he has done a GS or not, but he had never done a GT before mine and he knocked it out of the park! Find a pic or two of something you like and give him a call. Frankly, he can make just about anything. Have a blessed day!
