I'm back to the "Dark Side"!

Hey all, some of you may remember me and some probably not but for those of you that do...I'm back to the "Dark Side"! Just purchased a Crystal Gray Metallic
K1200GT today from Grand Rapids BMW in Michigan. I talked with Grif today and he encouraged me to come back on the board and here I am. Good to be back and get acquainted with all of you's. Going up the the dealership to give them the check, but I am waiting for a few of the accessories to come in and be installed before I take actual delivery.

I'll be around (again) and hope to meet up with some of y'all soon.

Regards,
Woody aka SoberBiker

Sure is good to see your sig, Woody. Glad you're back. And a new GT in the stable? Awesome!!

Won't take you long to make new friends and shake up the old timers. We're still 'bout the same threaders and posters - just some different players now and then. Lookin' forward to your input.

Good luck on the farkle front; been a bunch of it on GTs while you were gone.

Take care, Woody. Ride safe.

My favorite story on Woody, who by chance, is my long lost brother:

We were a couple of days early for CCR Breckenridge and I happened across Woody and introduced myself as Ricardo Cabesa. After awhile he asked me if I knew a guy by the name of Grif. I told him Grif was an umitigated asshole and to stay away from him. I think it was the next day I see Woody storm out of a door with a wild look in his eye and he commenced to bellering when he saw me. I warned him that Grif guy was an asshole.

Love ya, brother man and I'm so glad you're back!

Thanks for the welcome back to all. I have missed y'all and even though I know I have been welcome here no matter what I rode, I have been remiss in attending the site. I apologize and really am glad to be back...and on a new GT!

WOW!!! What a machine. I went up to BMW of Grand Rapids yesterday to close the deal and what a great group of fellas up there. Although they are bound to do the sales wrap-up it was as painless as could be. I highly recommend doing business with Blaine and crew there if you are in the market for anything. I had to wait to bring the bike home so they could install the NavIII ,Autocom, and the top box, but Andy told me he would all but promise I would have it Monday.

I did take it for a short ride before leaving (Just to be sure it ran ) and Wholly Crap! Ain't the lettle begger faster than greased lightin'? I am gonna have to learn some respect for this one.

Regretfully I won't be attending CCR this year. I have committed to going to a little run up in the Rockies called the "Serenity Run" and doin' a ride about (as my friend Dave Dragon puts it) up in them thar parts. It's gonna be a Honeymoon for my sweety Lori and I. We're gettin hitched on July 22nd and she's never been to the Rockies in the summer. So I figured I'd treat her to some beautiful scenery and great sights.

As some of y'all know, I'm back to workin now so the time is limited to what time I am able to squeeze out to have fun, but hopefully I can plan on seein some of y'all around the summer.

Regards,
Woody aka SoberBiker

Yes indeed, its not only wicked fast, its a "sleeper", as there is so much power "everywhere". Needs respect, this bike does, yes indeed, but oh WHAT FUN!!

Welcome back, Woodmiester! The GT is more fun than should be legal. I am little concerned about the rear end nutting up on me in the middle of BFE, however.

WTF?! And I've been wondering why all the "chick" guys are getting faster service than me! Well that settles it.....I'll just buy one of those little chick Mercedes or BMW convertibles and I'll be in business! Wonder if I have to put 'em in the old ladies' purse while I'm driving one of those cars?......

I have a Ford King Ranch 4x4, diesel Super Crew pickemup and my wife has carried mine in her purse since the day we got married. I do get them once a month for a few minutes, though.

Again thanks

Again...thanks for the welcome back replies and yeah Jay, after reading about Joe's mishap, I had a second thought...for about a mili sec. Then I came back to grips and I have to agree with the...JUST RIDE IT! theory.

Picking the gal up tomorrow in Grand Rapids ! Wooo Wooo!!! Got the call yesterday at work she was ready to loll with the intercom, top box and GPS installed. I ordered the HID from the group buy @ Fashtek and hope to have it in time to install before I leave on Thursday for the run to Akron for the Founders Day Celebration but not really counting on it being here that soon.

I also ordered the Suburban foot peg lowering blocks for the driver. Anyone have them? Do you notice a marked difference as I did on the LT and RT?

Regards,
Woody aka SoberBiker

Grif, so sorry. Now I understand why YOU HAVE TO ride a GT. At least when you're on the GT, you're NOT a jelly fish on the face of the Earth!

Yup, Woody, I was thinking about being stuck out in the middle of BFE, W/O a cell phone signal.......How long would it take before someone went by? How long would I be out there? But then I started thinking: I have the special Cuban, er, Dominican "stash" for just such an occasion. Good for about 45 minutes each......Who cares how long I'm out there!

I'll give the FJR the reliability edge. BUT, it will NEVER feel like a GT. Is that worth a few hours in BFE? Damn straight!

How did we ever ride without a cell phone? Ever see anyone get mad because they couldn't get a signal in BFE? My thoughts were, "who you wanna talk to while we're in BFE?"

"Hello? Yeah, honey, I'm in BFE?"

Her reply, "Who cares!!"
