Question O rings on clutch plate

While watching a couple of YouTube vids on K1200/1300 clutch replacement I noticed on one, alternate friction plates had an O ring around the tab to help separate the plates more reliably. Does anyone know this mod or are they supplied like that?

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: O rings on clutch plate

That is old news. You can only purchase K13 clutch parts now which are much superior. That O-ring stuff was an attempt to fix the K12 clutch mess, lack of oil to the internal parts.

I change your tires $50, you buy them on the web.
