K12GT/K13GT highway pegs

Found a set of highway pegs for my bike made by Estrada Design Ventures called Roto-Pegs. They were a little pricey, but they do the job of stretching out my legs so I don't get cramps. There is about a 10" difference in peg position which is very significant on this bike. The vendor recommended not standing on the pegs because of the way they rotate, but they are more than sturdy enough for riding. (sorry about crappy cell phone photos).

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

He did a run of 30 sets and I was number 11 on the list. Don't know how many he has left. They were available the middle of last June.

There has been another run of these pegs! You can search for BMW K1200gt/K1300gt Highway Roto-Pegs

Re: K12GT/K13GT highway pegs

I have had a set of them since last summer (Father's Day gift) and really enjoy them. I recommend them highly.

Here are a few observations:

* The simple design and basic operation are clever. They just work. When you want them, they are there. When you want them out of the way, they just flip up with a quick ankle motion, and they are totally out of the way.

* The fit and finish are superb.

* I had to remove my Verholen peg lowering kit to install them. Then again, if you have these nice highway pegs, do you really need a peg lowering kit? The absence of the peg lowering kit makes rear braking easier anyway.

* More bug splats on the toes of your boots.

* Your feet get cold when they hang out in the breeze and the weather is cold. Of course, you can always tuck them back in on the regular pegs, for a while, so they can warm up behind the faring.

* Because of the way that they rotate, they won't support hanging your legs over the top of them to stretch out. At least they don't do it very well. It works, sorta, but they tend to rotate back toward the stored, upright position.

I modified my Suburban Machinery lowering pegs per his instructions. I also bought a spare brake lever and bent it an inch lower to compensate for the lowering pegs.
