Still waiting...

I low sided my K1300GT before Thanksgiving. It's been at BMW Motorcycles of Atlanta for nearly four months waiting for repairs. When I check with them they tell me that they are waiting for the painter to paint the damaged side panels and side case. In the past I have loved the service there but I am starting to get impatient. I am thinking about telling them to get the parts back from the painter and I will take the bike somewhere else to be repaired. I hate to end my relationship with what I otherwise consider a very good dealership so I will probably wait a couple more weeks. I am lucky that I have my K1600GTL that I'm riding but I am a good customer and I don't think I am getting the service that I should.

Re: Still waiting...

I wouldn't wait for more than a couple of weeks to get them painted.

Re: Still waiting...

I am finally getting the bike back next week after 4 months. The problem was the exhaust system for the 2009 model is no longer in production. They finally located a used one in like new condition. Good news is it saved me about $1500 compared to the cost of a new one. I wasn't out of any riding because I am lucky to have 2 bikes but I am looking forward to having the K1300GT back in time for STC 😁.

Re: Still waiting...

I purchased my LT in SC because of BMWoA's staff there. After getting the LT, I went there for oil and filters once and haven't been back. I use Pandora in Chattanooga now, nothing but good from them, even repaired the top case lid strap for free, rivet had pulled through.

Re: Still waiting...

I had similar experiences from my local BMW dealer. After all of the headaches from them, I have been teaching myself how to do all of my own repairs. There are How-To YouTube videos for just about everything on my LT.
