Heli bar spacer on the new GT

Hi All,

A few people have mentioned installation of the Heli bar spacer on their new GTs.

I'd like to get some feedback from those who have installed it, thinking it's been on for a little while now at least.

How do you like the spacer? Was it easy to install (DIY or dealer install)? Did you do any other mods (peg lowering, windscreen) as well? And finally, if you know it - what is you sleeve length (thinking there's going to be a comparable size of those who did install it).

My GT is on order, and planning a long ride already. Thinking about this item, and wondering if it would be worth asking the dealer to order one in (they're on the list of dealers for the product) in advance of the bike so they're there at the same time.

Thanks!

Let's see......

Yes, I really like it. Brings the bars higher and further back. No effect on handling that I can detect.

I installed it myself. One I figured out how to get the stock nuts off the adjustment bolts, a snap.

I did install the Suburban peg lowering kit after the Heli-Bar spacer, but I consider the two independent; i.e. I don't think that either one requires the other. YMMV. I also added a Cee Bailey +2 +2 windshield, and a Rocky Mayer seat.

Prof,

How tall are you that you needed the peg lowers? Have you seen any peg scrapping yet. Also you you like the height and width of ther2 by 2 shield?
