Gs911 service reset

Is there a way to reset the service interval on a K1300GT with a GS 911 WIFI? There is this option on the K1600GTL setting but I don't see it on the K1300gt setting.

Re: Gs911 service reset

I have not done it but it is there. It also has miles to valve check as a separate entry. I think the SW is the same for all 911 units. The hardware on the wifi has the additional stuff for the GTL. I would have to go hook up the GT to get you a screen grab. Let me know if you still cant find it and I will.

Yes, there is. I don't have a K1300gt, but this is what the screen looks like

I think this is one of the anomalies of the WiFi 911. The mobile versions only have "emergency" functionality, the PC version is needed for "service" functionality. I presume this is to let you help a friend on the road without using up one of the VIN slots.

The following are excerpts from my chats last summer with the GS911 help desk.

| Hi John,
|
| Please note that the Service Functionality of GS-911 Wifi is currently only available on the Windows PC application (1407.5 beta), and Emergency Functionality (ECU information, reading & clearing of Fault Codes, Engine real-time (live) data) is available on ANY device with a browser and wifi - typically Android, iPads, iPhones, Windows Phone 7 & 8 etc...

| hi John,
|
| as Zool said, the Mobile version does only doe Emergency functionality, - all service functionality is in the PC version...

Re: Gs911 service reset

Thanks everyone. I was only looking at the phone app. For some reason I was not able to pair to my computer. I will try to figure out how to do that.

If it will not pair to your PC just plug it into it. That Is how I connect to my laptop

Re: Gs911 service reset

I believe it needs to be connected to USB. The wifi part was just there to support the iPhone which would not do BT data for emergency type functions.

Re: Gs911 service reset

John, it works with Wi-Fi through a home network as well as USB. Through phones and other browsers you can only read the error codes, but can't reset the service indicator.

Re: Gs911 service reset

Did you find the Special Functions option in the left pane of the GS-911 window after selecting your bike model?
As said before, it only works from the Windows PC software.

The screen does not look at all like the one you showed in your screen shot. The screen on my computer looks like the one on the phone app.

Al, it sounds like you are trying to access it through a browser if that is what you are seeing, but I thought you said you reset the K1600 service reminder?

You need to install the downloader to your Windows desktop and then run it. This will install the GS-911 program. Go to Hexcode downloads and it is the first download on the page, called Downloader.

Now I see... I was opening a browser and not running the software. Thanks.
