Going to look at a K1200GT

Hi, I'm off to look at a K1200GT on Thursday, I bought an LT last year and love it, however, I find it a bit top heavy, so I took the back box off it, I like the idea of the GT because the luggage can be taken off in seconds,

Is there anything I should be looking out for?

I won't be taking it for a test drive so any pointers will be a great help.

Cosmeticaly it looks good in the pictures.

How do they stack up against each other, the LT because of the wide seat is a bit of a stretch to the floor for me.

Re: Going to look at a K1200GT

This is posted in the "newer" 2006 up GT section, so I can't exactly compare, but between the LT and the older pre 2005 GT, chalk and cheese, completely different bikes.
The riding style is very different, the turning is very different, the acceleration is different, the comfort level is completely different... about the only real comparison is the variety of hand controls are identical so there was nothing new to learn there... pretty sure things changed in that regard a little on the newer bikes though.

You would absolutely need to ride one if the only thing concerning you about the LT is the top-heavy feel... as the GT's aren't real lightweights either.
