Corbin Seat Anyone?

I just picked up a 2009 K1300GT and it came with a Corbin. Not my favorite. Anyone have a stock seat they want to swap? Condition not important (well at least no large rips or tears or big holes etc.)

Really love the bike by the way.

Re: Corbin Seat Anyone?

Mind if I ask how much? And how many miles?

The K13GT is a nice bike, with most of the bugs worked out from the previous version. Mine ran flawlessly, unlike my K12GT . . .

And most importantly, what color?

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Red, 23 K, and $11,780. I was a bit surprised by the performance as I was not actually looking for the GT. I was trying to get rid of my GS and this just fell into my lap. It has all the options except for the crappy ( my opinion ) Corbin seat. Felt very good in the twisters on the way home yesterday and solid on the interstate @ 80 in the rain, even though I discovered I was turning off the ASC when the light was on.

Hey John How do you like your GT? I'm very curious about the seating position. I just checked the cycle-ergo.com website and compared a RT and a K13GT and it shows the rider sitting more forward.

It seems that there are some good deals out there with low mileage...

Thanks!

Re: Corbin Seat Anyone?

I was worried as I had back surgery in March but I am very comfortable and quite upright on the GT. I have not been on a recent RT but my GS had me in about the same position (except for the pegs). Just that the pegs are pretty high and it took a while to get used to that after my LT and GS. I have no issues so far and find I am able to stand in the pegs (with some effort compared to the LT) so I can stretch. Had it is some nice twisties north of Chattanooga then on the slab at 80 in the rain all on the drive home from the dealer. Felt very solid. The K1200S was way too far forward for me (had to give it a try).

Re: Corbin Seat Anyone?

My GT was much more comfortable with a taller seat, peg extenders, and bar risers.

I've had people ride mine and say "That's the most comfortable GT I've ever ridden." Well, yeah, that's kinda the whole point . . .

Re: Corbin Seat Anyone?

Swap complete and both parties are happy. I can now run the riders seat in the high position. Will see how it does on tomorrows commute.

I installed bar backs and dropped the foot pegs on my K1300 GT and it rides just as comfortable as my LT did. My only issue was the stock seat and I had Rich's here in WA State make a custom one for me - what a huge difference.

Re: Corbin Seat Anyone?

Thanks Denny, I plan the bar backs and maybe the peg lowers. But I am liking the stock seat (never thought I would say that about a BMW seat). I have a Russell Day Long on the LT and can go all day, day after day on that. Had the Corbin on this when it got it. Did not like it at all. Did the seat swap and now have the stock seat in the high position. I have only done a few commute days on it but it feels fine so far. Need to get a good long trip in for a proper evaluation.

Re: Corbin Seat Anyone?

Which tank bag have you got? Looks like one of those "ring" mounted ones.
