DICE and iPod

I know this has been brought up before. I would like to replace my 03 changer with the DICE. Is the "i-BMW-T" the correct one and has anyone added one since the last threads? Also is there any concerns when taking out the changer and adding the DICE? Thanks everyone

That was the same model number for the ice>Link...sounds right.

No concerns. I had two issues with the ice>Link. 1 - It would drain the LT's battery if left plugged in. Not too big of a deal once I knew about the issue. 2 - I suspected that it was causing iPod lock-ups. After much experimentation I learned that it was an iPod vibration issue inherent with using an iPod on a motorcycle if it's not mounted in a good spot. My iPod used to lock-up on my Ninja and on my new GT as well, if it's not shielded from the vibrations of the bike. If you're using a non-HDD iPod, this won't be a concern at all for you.

Thanks for the post though. You reminded me that I need to sell my ice>Link. Now...where is that thing?

Yes, that's the right model number. The other two choices are radio only without navigation, and standard radio system with 3 and 6 pin headers.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. I replaced my Ice Link which died and gave me the NO RADIO display and locked up my Stereo. The Ice Link would lock up occasionally. The new Dice has locked up once or twice, but nothing like the Ice Link. When the Dice locked up I was easily able to reset my Ipod. My Ipod is just sitting in the side case where the changer used to be. Usually nestled in with my rain pants, which don't get much use here in the desert. I'm happy with the newer version of this. Smile Dice install Photos...

Here are some pictures of my install. The belt clip was part of a Nano shock kit I purchased from Target for under $30. You can view it here...

I kept the case for the CD player and drilled holes in the top to use
nylon ties. This keeps the Dice unit and cabling off the bottom of the
case. I'm able to store my air compressor and pressure gauge in the
extra space. The Nano shock kit by Agent18.com has a acrylic case with rubber bumpers, a velcro arm holder and a belt clip. The belt clip works
great...it is extra wide to fit the lip of the CD case.

David..Thanks for the pictures, looks like a clean install. I found a "jelly" case for my Nano and velcroed it to the back of the case. I didn't think to use the old cd changer for a base. I thought the velcro would enable me to get the Nano out to update my playlists. Yours looks like it woulds just as good.
