Talking New Woofers in my helmet?

I need to replace the speakers in my helmet. We are using the Baehr intercom on our LT and the speakers are sounding like crap. I know the gold star replacement used to be a set of Radio Shack headphones. So what is the new best replacements?

Re: New Woofers in my helmet?

J&M Audio has a few different types of replacement speakers. I put a set in my wives helmet & it made a big difference.

Re: New Woofers in my helmet?

Can you solder? If you can completely replace the crappy wire inside the helmet. i used mil surplus teflon insulation multi stranded silver coated with a shield and it made huge improvement in the sound. I bought itanium head phones:
http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KTXPRO1-T.../dp/B00007056H
ripped them apart, made a wiring harness for them plugged them into my Sena blue tooth and was amazed at how much better everything sounded including the base!

those koss titaniums have the highest sensativety I could find for any head phone, you get more loud out of the most sensative speakers, plus, they fit in my helmet with just a dab of hot glue and they sound GREAT!! since I use ear plugs, louder was important.

Oh the wire is from ebay, NAVShips if I remember correctly. I love using teflon insulation, cause it takes a lot of heat to melt it, unlike plastic, it doesn't ware thru like plastic and generally the wire inside of it is silver coated which makes soldering a lot easier.
