Scala G4 Battery

Apparently the battery has gone bad in my Scala G4. Scala's customer support told me I could send the unit in and for $50 they would replace the battery. If it does not fix the problem, they will refund $10 and send it back. I have opened the unit and the battery is easy to replace but I have not been able to locate a source for the battery and Scala refuses to sell me one. Does anyone have a suggestion where I can purchase a LIP451949-2HDJ?

Re: Scala G4 Battery

Have you tried Battery Plus? They seem to have a food selection of odd ball stuff. Bought a $40 replacement battery for a Fluke meter and it works like a charm.

Re: Scala G4 Battery

I have tried Battery Plus with no luck. I also have e-mails out to several manufacturers in China. May need to buy 1000 and go into business supplying replacement G4 batteries.

Re: Scala G4 Battery

You should be able to ID the battery from voltage, dimensions and connection locations using a std table of such. I doubt Scala gets a bespoke battery fabbed just for them.
The numbers you gave look like some Scala or makers part number, not a battery ID, to me. Is there any other identifying info on it?

Re: Scala G4 Battery

I have a a couple of batteries on order from China. I believe I will be able to connect them in parallel and have the same battery that was original. I will post again once the batteries arrive and I have put it all together.
