Swap Nav II with a Nav III

Looks like my Nav II is showing signs of an impending failure. It's starting to not recognize/locate satellites, stays in dark mode, etc. I have to keep powering it off and back on before it will start properly.

On a 2005 can a Nav III be swapped in as a replacement?

Greg

Yes, it fits straight into the same cradle and it's actually quite a bit better as a device.

Re: Swap Nav II with a Nav III?

One more question, I've got a 2GB Memory card in the Nav II. Will that go into a Nav III with no problem?

ps - sorry I posted this in the wrong category

Yes but the NAV III is a discontinued model, so don't pay much. Garmin may or may not have a refurbished. MyVAV III-PLUS died and they sent me a NAV IV and new wiring harness (Zumo 660).

Joe, was that under warranty? If not, how much did that set you back?

I called to get a RA to send my NAV III for them to repair. They said to send it in and they would swap it out for free! What they sent me back was the new NAV IV and afterwards they sent the wiring and cradle. Call and ask for the dealer support for BMW motorcycles.
They are very inconsistent in the customer support side, my experience was great, others not so.
