Iphone sync issue

I just purchased a 2013 R1200RT with Nav IV and complete comm system and have everything functioning but can't seem to figure out how to get my Iphone synced properly. My Ipod function is fine and I can hear and see calls coming in but am not able to answer a phone call or make a phone call. What am I missing or not setting up correctly? I have not been back to my dealer because at the time of purchase they had no one on staff available to help me set it up. I appreciate anyone who could help walk me through this process.

Unfortunately I do not have a answer to your question but I wanted to take a moment to welcome you to the forum and congratulate you on the purchase of a new RT.

I hope you enjoy your bike as much as I do.

Aloha.

Thanks for the welcome,Scot,I'm looking forward to being part of this online community and ,hopefully, learn more about my RT and share info and stories with everyone. The RT is an amazing motorcycle and I can't wait to pack up and head for the horizon!

Happy Holidays!

Re: Iphone sync issue

I don't know if this is the case or not, but I'm under the impression that when you're using your iPhone as an iPod, you can't use it as a phone. It's one or the other from what I understand. Give that a try? What I mean is, don't hook your phone to the bike at all. Just bluetooth your phone to the gps, and then your gps to your headset. With the phone in your pocket (at least not hooked to the bike), try to make a call through the gps touch screen. Hope it works and good luck with the new purchase. I just picked one up June 1st, and love it!

I've had some trouble with my Scala linking to my bike, GPS, and phone at once. From what I've heard, you can't do them all unless you've got the BMW/Schuberth helmet com. I just listen to my external speakers and that way I can get GPS directions and make/receive calls. I was told that BMW or Scala were working on a patch that would fix the problem.

Re: Iphone sync issue

I have the Schuberth/BMW set up and I thought it was all compatible. I'm going to try the dealer again and see if I can get some direction. Thanks for the reply and I will try what you suggested and see if that works.

What? Apple products don't have issues!

Or so I have read.

Re: Iphone sync issue

I think what you have to do is sync the phone to your Nav and then the Nav to your helmet.
