Scala Rider Teamset Pro comments

Today we took our first long ride with our new Scala Rider Teamset Pro. Yes I know my K1200LT has an intercom but my plug in the fairing has developed an intermittent short and my wife's lower cords never seem to last more than a year at most before separting at the plug.

I've written a few comments and a review on our website. I tired to copy it here but formatting kept messing up so I'll just provide a link for anyone considering a Scala Rider Teamset Pro.

Re: Scala Rider Teamset Pro comments

Thanks for the great report. I am considering purchasing this set also. Have you used it with a music player? I am wondering how the music quality sounds, and also if the unit cuts out the music when someone is speaking.

Thanks....Alaskan

Re: Scala Rider Teamset Pro comments

I haven't tried it with a music player yet as I've heard it can be one of the weak points of the unit. I know that you should not bluetooth music from your phone as the unit sees this as the phone and overrides the intercom. I just did however hookup and MP3 player using Scala's included cord for this. The intercom overrode the music. The music was still there but appeared to have been lowered. It was hard to tell as the unit raises it's own volume based upon ambient noise. But I could activate the intercom and tap on the other mic and hear it over the music quite easily. Music quality was adequate and has to be controlled by the volume on the player and not the Scala.

The TeamSet prioritizes this way (1 being highest priority):
  1. Mobile phone audio/GPS
  2. Intercom
  3. MP3
