Ignore side car stuff. Diagram is old but mostly right.
Measure the impedance of your existing speakers and verify that they are 32 ohm. If they are less you risk burning up the amp. More will typically not generate as much volume.
I'd advise replacing microphone with Autocom's mic. It's miles better than anything out there. See part 2074
Other than that, make sure the electrolet mic's positive goes to red and ground to shield. Make sure Yellow goes to ground. This controls the Auto-on feature.
Connector is a 7-pin 270 degree DIN. You can get from Digikey, etc. Understand that the Autocom cables have an overmold for water resistance and most connectors you order won't. Consider an old stock Autocom 2091 loom for easier install. Watch out as the 2091a does not break out for speakers.
