Headsets / Intercom

I normally ride my K1200S and wear Challenger custom molded earphones that have excellent sound quality while acting as earplugs to reduce wind noise. The only thing I have connected to the earphones on the S is a radar detector. I've just bought a 2004 K1200LT for a two up bike that I'd like to have full use of the intercom / music / GPS / radar detector. I don't want to go to a typical helmet mounted speaker / mic system. I'd like to continue to use my molded earphones, install a helmet mounted microphone, and have the whole thing plug into the BMW intercom system. Any idea on how to accomplish this?

Re: Headsets / Intercom

The headsets come with mics and it isn't a bad idea to have them installed, but you can still use your earplug earphones.

You didn't mention the type of helmet you use....the headsets are available for open face or full helmets.

Here is what you will need assuming your system is the BMW Comm System that comes with a LTE.

This headset with the J&M 6 pin lower cord.

And either the first or second item on this page in the 6 pin version will allow you to plug in your earphones:

Hope that helps,
