VOICE II, cell phone, follow up

Problem resolved through help from BMWMOA, BMWNA & Mischler's HD/BMW of Beaver
Dam, WI. Phone cord from VOICE II to cell phone / defective & replaced. The farther you
stray from the factory default settings may cause issues with 3-way cell phone capability.
Personal observations is that windscreen/helmet interface, (wind buffeting) may also play a
role in the total combination. BMWNA sent out their technician, (Jack ?) who analyzed the
problem with help from Mischler's. The VOICE II as installed is now working correctly with
-0- expense to me. All parties agree that the operator manual for the VOICE II could sure
use some attention to detail for correct operations. All this is out of warranty service; many
thanks to all for your help!

Can you provide the settings that you have your VOICE II set to, that would most probably help all on the site. Thanks

Re: VOICE II, cell phone, follow up

VOICE II was reset to factory default settings. My own observations are that one should
select a windscreen/helmet combo for driver & passenger that screens out as much wind
buffeting as possible. It also helps to close the chin vents when one intends to carry on
conversations if possible. One should make adjustments in volume & sensitivity when the
bike is at rest, preferably with the engine off & then let the speed control/wind adjustment
correct for itself. Only then adjust the unit as needed in small increments. Hopefully this
process will result in the desired performance with as little harm as possible.

Re: VOICE II, cell phone, follow up

Forgot to mention; it is recommended that one consult the radio operator's manual & panel
display to cancel out the speed/volume control for the external/bike mounted speakers.
Not doing so will result in a conflict with one's helmet speakers when using the VOICE II
system. Hope this helps.
