Autocom 5 pin or 7 pin?

I have an autocom 5 pin unit, but my new LT came with the same unit but with 7 pin leads.
I'd quite happily take out the 7 pin unit and replace it with my 5 pin unit as I have all the leads and headsets, unless the 7 pin is better in some way?????

I believe that you can plug 5 pin leads into 7 pin sockets. The extra pins are for more grounds. I also think that Autocom will convert leads for you - it may be worth speaking to them.

The 5 pin has a common ground for the Speakers, while the 7 pin there are seperate ones for each speaker.

I think Graham is correct on both counts, but I've never pluged a 5 pin into a 7 pin system. Might be worth an e-mail to Autocom.
