J&M CB2003 Installation

Has anyone got a good guide installing a J&M CB2003? I am getting one for Christmas and want to install it on my 2003 LT. I am curious about routing all the cables.

Thanks,

Lewis

Lewis, which one are you getting??? The SL (driver only) or the DU (driver/pass) ??. I put one on my 2005, the DU. It was fairly easy. All the right side tupperware comes off, but it is alot easier if you pull both sides. Pm me and I'll try to help you if I can. Chuck

I'm getting the Dual unit. My wife doesn't ride with me much, but if I got a single, she would start. And I would be in trouble.
My main concern is if the cables are long enough from the factory. The LT is a big bike and it takes quite a bit of cable to route things around on the bike.

The cables are long enough, but for the back cable, I had to come up between the seat with the pass cable. It work ok, just look alittle strange. Chuck.

Lewis, I had to add six foot of coax for the antenna the cable that came with it was not long enough. I picked the cable up at Radio Shack. I mounted mine on the clutch reservoir and routed the cables down the left handlebar under the cover and came out between the forks and then back along the left side under the tupperware. The unit does not come with an antenna I purchased the one from BMW. Good luck and have fun.

Re: J&M CB2003 Installation

Does anyone have any info on installing a CB on an LT with the Baehr comm system? I have heard it will squeal when you use the CB, and won't work out with that comm system. Any luck with this setup?
