Question VOICE II GPS and BlueTooth Phone

Here we go…

I have a K1200LT with Voice II and a Garmin III , which is actually a StreetPilot.

The Garmin Unit has BlueTooth Technology and so does my New Palm 700WX. The unit connects to my Palm with no problem.
The issue is that when the phone rings I can here the call, and answer it from the Garmin unit, but when I speak into the headset, nobody can hear me.

On my retail model Garmin it has a Mic input, but the BMW version does not.

I cannot believe that they designed all of this without testing the headset with the Garmin Unit. One of the biggest selling points of the GPS was that it was Bluetooth as well as integrated with the Voice II.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Re: VOICE II GPS and BlueTooth Phone

I know this thread is old and there was never a reply but I have the same issue and I thought I would try and bring it back to life and see if anyone had found a solution.

Same issue:

2007 K1200LT with the VOICE II system, a Garmin III GPS Bluetooth capable unit and L&M intercom headsets.

I am able to pair my Moto Droid to the Garmin. It recognizes the phone, alerts me that a call is incoming, I can answer the phone and hear the party speaking on the other end.
The problem I have is that they can not hear me. For some reason the mic is not linked or connected to the system or the system is not capable of receiving mic input.

Has anyone else had this issue and been able to overcome it? Having the option for my wife to talk on the phone during long rides would make my world a better place.

Thanks for looking

Re: VOICE II GPS and BlueTooth Phone

One possible solution is to shop around for a separate blue tooth hands free device like the Motorola HF820 that has capability for a hard wire output to a headset. You can then sync your phone and the hands free device to the Garmin, plug the headset wire from the hands free device into the phone jack on the Voice II and you should be all set. Don't know however if it will work for both rider and passenger?
