Bluetooth HF850 Issues

I noticed that several people have connected in the HF800/820. So I thought I would go one better and use the HF850 which is intended to be hardwired into a car. It comes with a speaker and mic. My thought was to clip the speaker and mic wires and put on mini-plugs. I did that, had a cool installation, but it didn't work. My guess is that the speaker output from the HF850 overdrives the input to the BMW comm system.

Has anyone else attempted this? I like this better since the HF850 has a remote control (I placed on my handlebar next to the right grip) and doesn't need batteries.

Cheers - Jack
