Cool Autocom and cell phone feedback

I have problems with my cell phone when I connect it to the Autocom. When it automatically answers, there is a loud buzzing sound (feedback?). Is there any simple solution? The listener at the other end of the phone is forced to end the call because of this noise.

Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to correct it?

I have the Autocom pro7 and it works great with either my Nextel i90c or Motorola E815. What type of phone are you using? What model Autocom? What type of connector (cable) are you using? I have had mine for a while so I do not know if you need a special isolator cable (from Autocom) for the connection.

On some phones the Autocom plug does not seat completely, which will cause exactly the problem you describe. Mine did this when I first installed my Autocom.

I used a utility knife to carefully bevel the plastic edge of the connector, allowing the plug to seat all the way. Problem solved.

Reply to Autocom issue

My cell phone is a Nokia 6102i flip phone.

My AutoCom system is a 2003 year. I'll try reseating of the plug. It seems like it's a feedback issue.

Mike:

Thanks. I'm not sure which Autocom model. The cable is a simple male to male plug from the Cingular store.
