Bluetooth headset for listening only???

I need a bluetooth headset only for listening to my GPS. I have nobody to talk to (which is fine by me). I never have a pillion and none of my riding partners have headsets.

Does anyone make a unit that operates in "listen only" mode with a detachable microphone so I can ride with only the ear pieces in my full face helmet?

Recommendations?? Thanks!

Re: Bluetooth headset for listening only???

UClear HBC 100 Plus from Cycle Gear. Normally you can find on sale for under $150. You might be able to find the HBC 100 under $100.

They both are able to do lots more than just listen to your GPS but it was the cheapest I could find. They don't have extra wires and stuff for microphones since they are already built into the speaker. I've been able to ride with it on all day and still had juice left. The speakers fit right into the cutouts on my Shoei Qwest.

Good luck.

Re: Bluetooth headset for listening only???

Thanks. I think I found a winner, so I made a purchase. I tried to delete my initial post, but I see no "delete" button.

I ordered the Sena SMH5-02 Full-Face Helmet Kit for $96.75 w/ free ship. It has a detachable mic that's made to fit inside a full face. I assume the unit will function with the mic detached, but if not, it's pretty low profile.

Now I just need to find a GPS w/ Bluetooth capabilities. On the hunt for a used Zumo 220 to replace my Nuvi 500.

I guess I didn't catch this post in time....SENA just came out with an inexpensive ($89.10) set called the Sena 3S. Two versions depending on helmet type.

Take a look:

Outstanding... Always good to have options in the future that aren't $300++.
Thank you both.

Re: Bluetooth headset for listening only???

Sena now sells SMH10 speakers fitted with the plug that fits the SMH5, if you want to upgrade your sound quality for music. I doubt I'll be listening to much music so I'll give it a go with the speakers that come with it.
