SRC?

Picking up a new to me 2012 RT tomorrow that is loaded w/ options. I see that my bike has an SRC button. My bike also has a BMW Motorrad NAV IV (or V) I'm curious if SRC is the way to go or if what I would like is even possible. I would like to via bluetooth ala SRC to be able to connect my helmet mic/speakers to my phone, bikes radio, BMW GPS and valentine radar. Is there a helmet system that can do all of that? I'm attracted to the SRC seamless integration into the helmet but I know someone will be along to point me in the right direction.

Re: SRC?

SRC is name that BMW and Schubert uses for their Bluetooth system that goes only with a Schubert helmet. The helmet and BT will run about $1k ..... The firmware in the SRC system works with the firmware in the bike and Nav V GPS... It is a package. Pricey but it does work but can be temperamental with some phones. If you decide to go that route research that all your equipment with current firmware levels (what you have) is supposed to work (better yet someone has it working) as a package before you make purchases... .

Re: SRC?

as it turns out the bike I bought came with Nav IV. So I bought an SRC system and It seems to be working pretty well. I had the dealer help me with the bluetooth pairings. I have the Nav IV paired to the helmet and my iPhone paired to the helmet as well. My bike came with the audio package and I would like to pair the bike's radio to the SRC as well but the dealer suggested there would be some "conflict" with the devices. Wish I could figure out how to get everything paired up. Anyone care to hold my hand through this marriage of bluetooth devices?

Re: SRC?

I had an extensive talk with a Schubert rep discussing connection to a GPS and the phone. His recomendation was to pair the Garmin (or BMW nav) to the iPhone and then pair the SRC to the iPhone. If you had the SRC that has been rebranded by BMW they might be capable of being connected the way you have them paired. Otherwise the buttons on the Schubert branded SRC won't be passed on to the iPhone. I don't have your setup so I can't help with the exact sequence.

One tip is do not have any other BT devices within range during the pairing process.

Re: SRC?

The SRC button on the left panel is the Source button of the various audio channels: Satellite, XM, Aux, BT, etc.
