What's your experience? Intercom sys. w/speakers & modular helmet noise

Shopping for Intercom (prob Sena SMH10) while using Shoei Multitec modular helmet which is noisy.
I always wear foam earplugs due to the wind noise from the Multi.
Is the SMH10 speaker volume able to overcome the noise & plugs?

Experience?
Suggestions?
Pros/Cons?
Recommended earbuds?

Sry for adding another question/thread for this topic, But, I'd like to learn what you guys experience(d) with noisy modular helmets.

Thanks ..

I started out with almost nothing and still have most of it left! 2004 K1200GT

Have always worn foam NR32 earplugs and modular helmets (currently a Bilt flip), and no volume problems with 2 year old SMH10. Too loud if I crank its volume button way up. As often said, speaker placement in relation to ear opening is critical. Good luck.

Your biggest issue may be the foam earplugs you use. I have a Shoei Neotec, Scala G9 comm system, and wear custom molded earplugs I had made at a motorcycle show a couple of years ago (see pix). The helmet is loud and it is difficult to hear the comm system, if I forget the earplugs. With the earplugs in, everything is great and I can hear the G9 perfectly.

I have a Multitech, SMH10 set-up, with a set of molded earplug. I would not ride without the plugs. No problems about hearing the music, although the volume has to be on almost max.
