Baehr Com question(s)

Hi all, just installed the Baehr Verso unit and have some questions for the more experienced.

First a few details:
Both helmets are full face.
Radio connection is via a Autocom cable left in place my previous owner. This cable has the grounding system built in I believe.
Bike is an 02 LTC

Problem is static in the helmet speakers when playing the radio.

Things I have tried.

Mute the radio there is no static.

Talking to each other is crystal clear and during the "cutout" time by the VOX there is no static.

Tested at speeds from sitting still to 70+ MPH did not notice any significant difference in static at any speed or engine RPM.

Disconnected the passenger com, still static. (Didn't expect any difference)

Sitting still ran engine from idle to 3500 RPM (I.e =70 MPH in 5th) no change in static at any RPM again.

Tried different radio station and there seemed to be less static.

1) Should I try a CD?

2) Am I safe in my presumption that this is some how coming from the radio connections since talking is crystal clear?
