As required by the family court system all couples seeking a divorce had to attend couples counseling before the court will grant a divorce.
This is how a court appointed family counselor ends up facing a 95 yr old man and his 93 yr old wife seeking a divorce after over 70 years of marriage.
Sitting there in front of the elderly couple, slightly slack jawed and speechless, the counselor finally asks, " what possible reason would the two of you have for seeking a divorce at this time in your lives "?
Without hesitation the wife answers, "well we've been talking about it for awhile now but we didn't want to split up while the kid were still alive".
