BMW Navigator - security screw

Does anyone know where I can purchase the security screw which can be used to "semi-securely" fasten a BMW Navigator (SP III) to the bike mount. Or, do you want to sell yours to me?

My Nav I didn't have a tamper proof security screw like the Nav II's have. It did have a small knob on the end of the threaded screw that kept the GPS in place in the cradle...is that what you're talking about? It's really not a security screw as such, but what you could do is go to or order from a comprehensive bolt and screw place and get the type used on the NAV II's...a better solution IMO than the OEM thingy on the NAV I.

I received the screw/driver for my Nav I some time after I purchased the unit, when BMW first issued the security kit. My dealer tracked it down, so BMW's one potential source.

Somehow I did not expect his topic to hold to it's subject... Congratulations!

I don't know where to get one of the "security" fasteners... mine are still intact in the MC mounts I bought from Garmin... Perhaps a call to their support line?

The price on just the torx driver is around $25. You can get the screws (2 ea) and/or the driver from either the dealer or from Garmin as the kit listed above.

If you lower the windshield all the way to the lowest position it's pretty hard to get a regular torx screwdriver into the head of the screw, making it that much harder for "someone" to unscrew the lock and walk away with your unit.
