Nav II for '03 without comm system?

I'm being told by 2 different dealerships that the BMW Nav II system is not available for my '03 LT without the communcation system installed too.

It sounds odd to me. I know someone who has the Nav II installed on their RT and he doesn't have a comm system....

I looked at SierraBMW site and saw they had 3 different options for the Nav II

K1200LT 1999-2004
K1200LT with prep #394
K1200LT with prep #394 and voice

I called them 2 days ago, left a message and haven't heard back.

Can anyone help fill in the blanks for me?

Typical arbitrary dealer response...amazing, isn't it? He is somewhat correct, in that you won't have a plug-n-play, integrated setup with audio, etc. that is straight forward. What you can and will have to do, however, is get a pre-'05 installation kit such as can be found here, which includes the mounting braket that goes where your map light is and a wiring harness for the Nav II. A & S Cycles even has everything you need put together in a kit, GPS included for $1078.00. You will have to do some rigging at the end of the wiring harness to tie into a power source, for which the map light circuit is ideal. It's really an easier installation than if you had a Comm System, because since you're not plugging into it the plastic doesn't have to come off. Just the windshield and the instrument cover.
