Replacing the Screen on a Garmin Zumo 550

I have had my Zumo 550 for about 4 years. Recently it started loosing pixels from the screen. It was still useable, but annoying. So, I went on Ebay and ordered a new screen assembly from China which included the digitizer. It was about $45. It took me about 30 minutes to replace the screen assembly. Very easy. The hardest part was finding the right size Torx screwdriver. Garmin has a minimum charge for repairs of $150.

Just something to keep in mind.

My buddy had a familiar issues with 550 and Garmin replaces the entire unit for $150.
You don't get your old unit back.
