When you download an update to MapSource (Garmin)

Then what do you do with it.............does it automatically download to your GPS when you hook it up to your computer and open MapSource. I don't understand.......

Actually MapSource only goes on your PC. It does not transfer to the GPS. It is the program that talks between your computer, your map and the GPS which also has a map. It you are asking about a map update, that can go to your computer and your GPS. Again, MapSource only talks between the two maps. The one on your computer and the one on your GPS.

Opps, my bad, I was thinking the map update in my prevous post. You can use mapsource on the pc to plan your route, then transfere your routes and waypoints to the gps.

Re: When you download an update to MapSource (Garmin)

I wonder if this explains why if I plan a route and send it to the GPS (my venerable NAV I) the interstate exits all have their very old sequential numbering (while MapSource shows the correct numbering with mile markers) but when I just have the GPS on with no route the exit numbers are correct with the mile marker numbering.

Did that make any sense?
