Well my 2720 went south. The touch screen stopped responding and would do anything it wanted like it was haunted. I found that for $99 I could send it to Garmin and they would in turn send me a refurb. I sent the old one out Friday they got it Tuesday and the following Monday I had a new (refurb) unit. It had old 2008 maps on it but when I when to my garmin site there was a prompt on my old 2720 to transfer and register to the new 2720. I was just a matter of putting in the replacement serial number. Then they offered me a one time map upgrade. So now I have the latest maps for it too. Map transfer went smooth but took a long time over the Internet but I was pleased with the service and how easy it all was compared to the horrible update process in the past. The only down side I can think of is when I called for the RMA they wanted to try and fix it over the phone and it took some time on hold to get to the tech. I knew it wouldn't work but I said I would humor them. This was the cost for the 2720, other units have different prices so you have to check to see if its worth it to you. So I got the GPS replaced and a map update. Good Job Garmin.
