I had the NAV II and went to the ZUMO 550. I found it much better but the deciding factor for me was Garmin quit giving map updates for the NAV II

If you are using it with your comm system no, as I believe that the Nav III works best with the Voice II. Maybe even buy another Nav III for a rainy day.
The new Zumo seems to be designed for the newer system such as the one found on the new RT.
Then again, I could be totally mistaken. Its been known to happen.

Get a Droid - it's already loaded with Google Navigation and features "street view" and topo maps which can be a huge help when trying to located a business, restaurant, etc.

There are other free add on apps like Goggles, Layars, Google Earth, a compass, altimeter etc. that are incredibly useful when traveling.

Oh yeah, you can also make phone calls with it! (not to mention visual voice mail, e-mail, video, excellent still pictures, music, yadda yadda, Yes, I have been assimilated.)

Droid is an option, but I don;t need a cell phone. How can I get data without voice and then I am paying for a voice plan I would not use.

Is it waterproof?

Yep! Get the Droid! Then get a spare pair of "Goggles" so that you can always look like this picture I found of Ron running an app on his Droid!

Turn you into an instant chick magnet!

Note to Ron: Durn fingers

There is a 3D map hack for the Nav II... I have to find it on my comp here.

Just sayin...
