JM Bluetooth Headset and Zumo really Noisy

My new RF-1100 should be here tomorrow!

But……. I am having issues with the JM Corporation Hs-BLU277EDR-FF !

I wanted to make sure it all worked before I started chopping up my new helmet, So I did some experimenting.

There is a lot of background noise in the headset alone, even when it is not hooked to anything. Is that normal?

Then when the Headset is paired with the Zumo in all the following circumstances the noise gets even worse while the Zumo is processing and a constant clicking is present:

#1) In the cradle on the bike: key on bike not running

#2) In the cradle on the bike: bike running

#3) In the cradle on the bike: bike off, running on Zumo internal battery

#4) Sitting on my desk: Running on Zumo internal battery

There are even more weird noises when the Zumo seems to be processing commands! Electrical “white noise” gets really bad and a constant clicking is always present but gets worse when the Zumo is “thinking” and then subsides some, but is always present in addition to the white noise from the headset itself and then the "white"noise" form the Zumo!

Also I paired it with Zumo and my Blackberry Storm and it all paired up but the same noise problems occurred both with and without the Blackberry pairing.

Because all the noise is present whether the Zumo is on the bike or not, running or not, this pretty much rules out the bike wiring. The Zumo is wired through the switched side of a Centech AP-2 fuse block and when I was testing, all other accessories were off. Also the XM radio has not been activated.

All this racket makes this pretty much unusable!

Any ideas?

I will call Garmin & JM today!

Re: JM Bluetooth Headset and Zumo really Noisy

I had the Intercom volume unknowingly turned way up.

There are 2 distinct and separate volume controls. The on/off "Dial" is also the intercom volume.

Then 2 buttons on the bottom of the Head unit to control the Headset volume for Music/Nav/Phone.
