Getting Custom Routes Into Garmin

I have saved a .gdb file to the desktop on my laptop. I have saved the the same file to the removable disc and then installed disc to the Nuvi 765. I cannot seem to access the routes through the GPS.

Can someone please tell this dumba$$ what I am doing (or not doing). Mapsource is installed on the computer.

Thank you in advance for your assistance..........

Embarrassed and ignorant - or John for short.

Try writing the waypoints and routes directly to the GPS using the USB cable. I know that my GPS will not take routes and waypoints through the memory card.

Steve's option is good but your method would likely work if you had copied a GPX formatted file to your Nuvi rather than a GDB formatted file. Most Garmin GPS units, that support direct file transfers to memory or on memory cards, will only recognize GPX route files. Mapsource can save routes in either GDB or GPX format.
