Nuvi GPS on 2009 LT

Found out Santa will be bringing me a Garmin Nuvi 265WT for Christmas. Can I use this GPS on the '09 LT? Is there an adapter plate that attaches to the 265 WT that will mount on the GPS mount that came with the LT? Will the bike's wiring work directly or will there be lots of wiring modifications? Thanks.

You can use it on the LT but it will not last that long. Your Garmin unit is not waterproof or vibration resistant. If you keep it out of the rain and away from any vibrations, it is a cheap alternative to the Garmin units built for motorcycles.
There was just a posting a couple of days ago addressing this.

Mike,

My very cheap Nuvi 200 has lasted for several years on my LT, only repair put a new battery in it. I don't leave it on the bike overnight in the rain, etc. Hardly ever rains much in Montana, no problems riding cross country in the rain with that great windshield. Also doesn't need to be vibration resistant on an LT, they're smooth as glass.

Is there a cradle that will fit on the BMW tank mount and the 265WT unit?

Thanks
