Question Zumo 550 Bluetooth Code

I haven't read all the books yet, but does anyone know the security code for the Zumo 550 to recognize the Autocom blue tooth device?

Thanks in advance if you can help.

Re: Zumo 550 Bluetooth Code

By the way, I've alreay tried the suggested code 1234 and it does not complete the loop.

Re: Zumo 550 Bluetooth Code

I just added an Autocom BT dongle: it connected up with no problem, using the instructions that came with it. I don't recall which code they asked for and those papers are at my office. If you don't have an answer by tomorrow, I'll check on it and get back to you. (Off the top of my head, I'd say it's either 1234 or 0000.)

You do need to get the sequence right on putting the dongle in connect mode: if the light isn't right, it isn't going to connect. Also, it is possible, if you have the code right and have it in connect mode, that you've located it in such a way that it's getting interference. (Mine works well from under the passenger seat.)

Re: Zumo 550 Bluetooth Code

Book says it's 1234, but the Garmin indicates code is invalid. It does see the dongle, but won't accept any security code; i.e., 1234, 1111, 0000 etc. It was working with another 550, so I have no idea why it won't work with mine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Zumo 550 Bluetooth Code

Are you certain that you got the dongle in "connect" mode? I recall that Autocom's instructions were less than clear on how long you had to hold down the button, etc.

Other than a malfunction, I can't think of anything else. Perhpas if you can find someone with another 550 and try again on another unit.

Oh, and you may want to use Garmin's web site software updater to make sure you have the latest software version. They've corrected and improved several BT problems over the last few months via updated software.
