2610 problems

I do not know whether anyone can shed any light on the problem I am having, but here goes. My 2610 (5 years old) has just started playing up; the routing screen keeps changing to a random map which also flickers badly. If I press the top button it sometimes re-sets itself but not always. The touch screen does not always respond properly either - when pressing an option, sometimes a different option comes up.
This is not happening all the time but seems to be getting more frequent. It happens in tha car and on the bike so I do not think it is just vibration or strong sunlight causing the problem. I have tried closing off the remote sensor to see if that helps having read some of the threads, but does not seem to make any difference.
If anyone has had similar problems to this, I would be very grateful for any help. VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SITE - LOADS OF USEFUL INFO!!

Re: 2610 problems

I find my 2610 is effected by the heat. If I leave it in a hot car or on the dash of the bike in direct sunlight it does not work until it cool's off. You may consider this.

Re: 2610 problems

I would update the old one to at the very least a 2720. You'll be amazed how much faster the new GPS works compared to that older 2610.
