2820 to Baehr question

Hello All

I finally got some time to hook up my 2820 to the Baehr intercom and I have a question???

When directions are given through the Garmin, I only get the sound through one ear??? Is this normal or is there a stereo mode switch that I am missing?

Since you can play music through it , I would think it would be in stereo?

Thanks
Glen

Re: 2820 to Baehr question

I believe remember reading that the voice prompts are monaural and only play in one ear.

Re: 2820 to Baehr question

Thanks Steve

I just looked at the owners manual and under customizing audio, you have two choices for the audio jack.

Headphones, which is what I have it set on now and get one ear,

Line out ???? The manual does not say what this is ?

Any help?

Thanks
Glen
Maybe I will give Joe a call, he had one of these, and I still have his number.

Re: 2820 to Baehr question

I haven't a clue. Most customer electronics documents show you a simple electrical schematic for connectors for speakers and such. Looks like Garmin isn't most electronics companies. They seem to be pretty tight lipped about everything.

Re: 2820 to Baehr question

I don't know if its stereo or just a split mono signal, but I hear the directions is both ears. My sound is using the line out. I would suspect the slide connection in the back of the gps if using the line out. Also check the beahr sound cable is pushed in all the way too.

Just Go

Thanks guys

The next time I put it on the bike I will try the other audio option and see what I get, it's not really a problem,I just didnt know if something was wrong.
