greetings,

the wife just bought me a garmin 760. it has a fm transmitter, that supposedly will make the voice prompts go through the stereo? is there a inexpensive way to mount the thing without buying a $145 mount?

thanks,

Re: mount

I use a Nuvi 765T mounted in a RAM-Mount aqua box. $45 for the mount and its water and theft resistant. I can not see spending $800 on a GPS that doesn't show me the weather in detail (one of my many bitches).

Re: mount

Sorry I'm a little ignorant about this. How did you mount the box and where did you get it? Do you have a photo?

thanks,
Dale

Re: mount

The Aqua boxes can be found at http://www.ram-mount.com.
I put mine where the factory mount is; above the oddments box in front of the handlebars.

I removed the factory mount. I then took a 3/4 " ram ball on a circular flange, notched a couple of places to accommodate the opening, and mounted the modified ram ball through the existing hole (from underneath) using the existing four holes. I did have to notch the plastic just a little to feed to wires up, but just a little.
