New price for nav III

I go on line today and see that the "new" price listed on BMW's site for the nav III + is $752.31. This is almost $250 off the $998 just a few days ago. I run over to A&S locally and they say "sorry, we charge $998." When I got home I went back on line to order from the BMW site. This gives me a list of dealers. A&S is not one of them. The closest to me is Cycle Specialties in Modesto. These folks were great. The gal on the phone was surprised by the on-line price but agreed to go with it. I ordered it and am looking forward to hooking it up. Can't say enough good things about Cycle Specialties.

That is almost down to my price range! When I bought my LT in june of 2007, they wanted $1400 for the Nav III. What a difference a year and a half makes.

I just checked the price today and it is back up to $998. I wonder what is going on here?
