Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

Glen. I am looking at the cable right now. It has a splitter. One end goes to Baehr. The other two ends are 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm both with double bands. One is audio gps and Music 3.5 mm and the other is MIC.

You can use the CAKN-03-01 but will only get GPS audio not music.

Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

I'll have another one early next week. Talk about a run on 2820 Baehr cables. I sold 3 in one week. I have one going out to Michael Nahas tomorrow.

No. Considering sales were off by 80% last two months.

Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

Would this cable work on a voice II and the 2820?

If not, is there one?

Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

It will not. This cable is specific to the baehr unit.

If you want to power the 2820 and get audio (GPS only), you can use the Powerlet Products cable PPC-003.

Raffy;

The power cable from the Nav II fits perfectly the 2820, I ordered a new Garmin bracket( so the left side of the Garmin has the two connections ( mic & audio out) are available. What I want would be to hear downloaded audiobooks ( stored in the 2820) through the speakers or headsets) also the GPS should cut in to announce route directions). This is how I thought it would work with the cable from the audio out to the VOICE II system!!!

I will let you test tonight ( since I won't be riding for another month!!! to much snow here!!)
Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Bowdon

Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

In your case, you need a specific cable from BMW to make it work. I am not sure if there is such a cable to interface the 2820 with the VOICE II without using the NAV II cradle.

Raffy;

With the Nav II cradle on, I don't have access to the cable connections on the 2820, because the cradle blocks them!!!
I have two cradles, so I can abuse one of them, but don't want to do that if its not going to work!!! and someone might need a cradle!!
Now what to do!!!
BMW as far as I know, won't support the Garmin 2820 becuase its not a BMW unit!!

Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

You are going to have to figure out the pinouts on the VOICE input vis a vis the output jacks on the 2820 and make your own. Unless of course I am missing something.

Raffy;

I don't know what happened last night, but I put the Nav II cradle back on the bike, put the 2820 in the cradle, played with the com system with the headsets and VOILA!!!! The MP3 player works, the directions for the GPS works and all through the headsets!!!! and the speakers!!!

So as far as I am concerned the 2820 in the Nav II cradle works!!! ( at least mine does and thats all the counts!!!)

Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Cable for a 2820 to the Baehr intercom

Great.

The question is are the buttons on the left side of the cradle working with your 2820?
