I wuz gonna play Santa Claus to myself and buy one of these, butt since it's not got the battery operation combined, I opted out. Butt, I still can't figger out why this particular item is $170.00 cheaper than the re-furbished model. I'm missing sumpthin', for sure.

Re: Garmin 2820 + GXM30 $299

Got mine yesterday for $299!! plus a free weather radio thrown in to boot. Got shipping confirmation and FedEx is hauling it as I type. Someone on a different post said if you mention the lower price they will give it to.

Dick , Word has it Garmin is reducing over stock. Perhaps a new model release in the pipeline. This will work great with my 478.

Re: Garmin 2820 + GXM30 $299

I ordered one from getfeetwet.com yesterday for $230. The guy said they had sold out of the current stock and had some more coming, but they were $245 now (no XM antenna). He let me have the new stock for $230 since I told him I saw it online at that price.

My guess is Garmin is clearing out it's stock. This may be the last of this line.

Anyway, my old 2610 will soon be up for sale....................

Re: Garmin 2820 + GXM30 $299

Doesn't it cost a bundle to add an XM antenna? I think the GXM (which it comes with) is for optional traffic only. I have heard to add in XM radio is $$$.

Re: Garmin 2820 + GXM30 $299

The bundle with the antenna was only $60 more when I ordered mine. If the price has gone up in the last couple days, say you saw it for $299. That's what I got it for with the antenna. The guy on the phone when I ordered it said they bought a whole bunch of overstock from Garmin and he had already sold over 30 units. Maybe because of the popularity of the Zumos, Garmin is discontinuing them.

Re: Garmin 2820 + GXM30 $299

Just ordered the packaged bundle. Got the same story, out of stock but a shipment is on the way. They should be shipping out by next Wednesday.

I looked around the XM sites and it looks like the setup will be able to get a combination (you pick) XM NavTraffic w/basic weather and XM Radio. I could not find out if this setup will work with XM NavWeather.

I was also wondering if I will be able to easily connect the unit to my Voice II system for music? I believe the 2820 nav directions will work right through my system with the BMW cradle, right? I have a 2006 LT with the NavII factory system and the BMW Voice intercom.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
